Gabriella had her 2 month check up today, along with vaccinations (three heroic shots in the legs.) She weighed in at 12 lbs even (75th percentile) and 23 inches long (75th percentile.) The most exciting news is that her grape moved from the 10th percentile at the one month check up to the 25th percentile at today's check up. Slowly moving away from the "Pinhead" nickname destiny.
The MD said everything looked great physically and developmentally. The shots were pretty awful for her.. but she self-soothed quickly. It wasn't until about 4 hours later that she started feeling the effects. We had to run out to get Tylenol to ease some of her pain. Poor thing. She would be hysterically crying... eventually calm down, move her leg, and then begin the crying thing again. It was a vicious cycle. God bless Tylenol. She felt much better about an hour after receiving it.
She doesn't see the MD again until she's 4 months old.

She's back
April 27, 2007
After the terrible, tear-stained day, Gabriella topped it off by pretending to try out for the leading role in the Exorcist. (And she decided to read her lines to me...) I probably had about a gallon (or it felt like a gallon) of spit up all over me. Stew can attest to this. After that, she was back to normal.
Here are some pictures from yesterday... with the typical range of emotions:

Happy 2 Months!
April 21, 2007
Gabriella is officially 8 weeks old (as of yesterday)... I can't believe I have to go back to work in 4 weeks!! Where has the time gone??
I haven't been able to post as much due to the crazy schedule that this household is following! Gabriella is growing like crazy - she weighed in around 11.5 lbs earlier this week. I took her to the pediatrician because I thought she was sick... but apparently she was just suffering from a blocked tear duct. Who knew?
Gabriella has also become quite the traveller... going to Baltimore and back in the car. Three generations in one vehicle and everyone survived! (My mom came with us -- thank goodness..)
Here are some pictures documenting our blessed return to Buffalo...
Getting burped at a rest stop. Notice the raindrops... it wasn't the easiest of travels..

Recovering with a nice warm bath... who can resist the bunny towel?

Changed into her nice warm duck PJs...

Finally Home
So we've had a pretty hectic week, as we have been moving my father from Baltimore to Buffalo. He is now in an assisted living facility... needless to say, it's pretty emotionally and physically draining. One of the worst things was that I had to be away from my baby (unexpectedly) from Thursday to Sunday.... I am SO sick of that stupid breastpump. I missed Gabriella sooo much. Stew took such good care of her though. He was quite the trooper.
Here is what she looked like when I walked in the house on Sunday. She seemed perfectly content to be with just her Dad!!!
Just trying it out
I'm considering switching websites so that I can post more pictures of Baby G without having to worry about reaching my picture limit... I'm going to play around with this site for a bit to decide...
