Age - Almost 1 year!
Gabriella enjoys playing with her food probably more than she enjoys eating it. Our dogs really enjoy parking themselves beneath her high chair. This gives them the first opportunity to eat up all of the yummy food that is being catapulted through the air. Gabriella likes to throw food off, one by one. The dogs have also learned that they can save some time if they just SIT next to her. That way, they can anticipate when she is going to throw food. They will wait for her arm to come over the side and then they will remove the food from her hand. Believe me; I'm not entirely happy with this system. Gabriella and the dogs seem to enjoy it, however.
Well the other day, one of our dogs was in a particularly energetic mood. Gabriella was eating in her high chair and began the food exile...(one by one, of course.) In an instant, Abraham lunged at her hand and took her ENTIRE hand in his mouth. I completely freaked out, of course, assuming that my dog had lived my worst nightmare and taken a chunk out of her hand. Well, it was over almost as quickly as it started. The food had been removed from her hand and her entire hand and lower arm were completely cleaned of any food remnants. Her hand had become a sort of "dog straw" for him.
I love how gentle the boys are with Gabriella.
Our good, and perpetually hungry, dog, Abe
