Now that Gabriella's first birthday is approaching, I figured it was about time to give another update:
2/6/08 - Gabriella took her first step. She hasn't taken one since, but it was incredible, in that one brief moment, to see her take that small remarkable step that means so much.
2/13/08- Gabriella tasted her first dog treat. She found it in a "ball" (one of the dog's kong toys) and I had to pry it out of her mouth. She apparently liked it. (Why are we spending so much on organic baby food??)
2/15/08- As of today, she can say:
"ball" = ball or dog's kong
"uh-oh" = whenever you drop something or when she drops something.
"Hi" = sometimes when she waves she says this.
"Bye bye" = sometimes when she waves she says this (usually in response to someone else saying bye bye.)
"Da da" = this morning she said this right before she buried her head in Stew's chest.
"Mom" or "Mama" = Usually said when she's tired and wants to cuddle or nurse.
"Da-ee" = doggie. A couple of weeks ago she said "Da-ee Ball" when she saw Stew playing fetch with the boys.
"Kkkk" or "ki-ee" = Kitty cat. She has recently fallen in love with cat tails. She will start cracking up whenever one of the cat's tails come near her.
And, the teachers at daycare swear that she can say "Thank you." It does sound like she's mimicking that sometimes, but I'm not convinced.
Also, as of 2/08 she can now officially whine and throw mini tantrums. It's pretty cute. The teacher's at daycare this week said, "With a baby like Gabriella, you're really going to have to set limits early." I'm still trying to figure out what that meant. Our little angel? Limits?
